Power of Attorney

What does it mean to have Power of Attorney?

A power of attorney is a document by which you designate another person to handle your financial or medical affairs in place of yourself.

Such powers might be helpful – even essential – if a financial transaction or health care decision must be completed or made, but you are sick, incapacitated, or simply unavailable, and can not handle the matter or decision yourself. Once you have given a power of attorney to someone, you may later revoke it.
